Homeschool Family
A Family Affair Productions LLC (AFAPLLC) is the parent of Homeschool Vibez. In December 2019, I took a firm stance against the racially oppressive, non-representative, and cruel miseducation system in which my children were being bullied, isolated, demoralized, and dehumanized daily. I spent many days meeting with Teachers, Principals, and even Superintendents of the school districts, advocating for my students, until one day, we finally reached the breaking point. I knew if I didn't take action right away, the kind, loving, respectful, and ambitious children whom I entrusted to the school system, would be gone forever.
Two and a half years later, after a whole lot of prayer, healing, laughter, and tears, AFAPLLC was born.
How It Started: Our vision for AFAPLLC is to one day produce books and cinema that represent the gifted and talented people who comprise the true spirit of what's known as Black Culture. We want to change the narrative about this particular group of society that is often misrepresented in today's films, books, and media as villainized victims of society with stereotypical tropes. Knowing that everything begins with baby steps, we've begun our journey as content creators while we develop our skills, we create a space to build community and collaborate with other like-minded individuals. What started as a strategy to help heal the hearts of two very special young people has become more than a passion, it's now become a mission.
Yes, we started as an African American homeschool family, simply hoping for an opportunity to receive a quality education in a space that's safe and supportive. We've done the job and created that space. Homeschooling has unexpectedly furnished us with a lifestyle that has given us the freedom to both dream and plan how to create the reality of those dreams.
That's why we launched "Homeschool Vibez", where every vlog, and video we post is a representation of our homeschool lifestyle. Our motto: "Homeschool life is a vibe, and the vibe is EVERYTHING"!

This is where it all began and is our first love. When I had the money, I didn't have the courage but when I found the courage, the money didn't matter. Choosing to homeschool my children is a labor of love and as rewarding as it is challenging. I began this journey out of necessity, I continue because what I found has been more than I could ever imagine.

Community Volunteers
Serving in the community where we live is our most valuable contribution. We started by serving dinner at our local homeless shelter where we once lived during a very rough time. Going back to give what was so freely given to us was part of the healing process that's very seldom discussed but desperately needed when it comes to children who experience homelessness. Unfortunately, as a result of Covid, our weekly volunteering schedule ended and lay stagnant for a few years until recently. We joined the African American Community Services Association, located in San Jose, and signed up to volunteer at local events. We're pictured above at San Jose State University, volunteering at the annual MLK Luncheon.
CONTENT CREATORS
As homeschoolers my students have many opportunities to participate in activities that build their confidence and uncover their many talents. Creating content on Social Media platforms has very quickly become trendy in today's society, especially during the last 2 years. My students are taking this trend to the next level by: creating scripts, writing screen plays, producing short family skits, filming and editing their own content. Our tools and resources are raw right now but building a legacy takes time. We're very proud to present family- friendly funny content to our audiences as we build our platforms.
